Atuge UK Summer Hike Saturday 23 August 2025
Join us for a thrilling hike in the beautiful Box Hill area
Box Hill, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has inspired many great artists, writers and musicians for hundreds of years. Jane Austen based the picnic scene from ''Emma'' here, George Lambert's famous painting of Box Hill in 1733 (now in the Tate Gallery), and it's even had several songs written about it. Come and discover the magic of Box Hill for yourself and see why it’s attracted and inspired so many famous creatives for centuries.
Walking in Box Hill is like stepping into a living painting—where every turn of the path reveals a new composition of light, texture, and stillness. With expanding views, fields quilted in green and gold, the River Mole threading below, and the distant shimmer of far-off villages. There’s a sense of quiet wonder here—of walking not just through nature, but into it. At Box Hill, every step is a kind of remembering: of slower days, of natural beauty, of the quiet joy found in simply being part of the world.
